Nearly 7 years ago, I took a holiday to Bali to celebrate mine and my friend’s birthday- we’re 3 days apart.
When she had to go back to work- I changed my flight and decided to stay and go to Ubud… there I stayed for 6 weeks impromptu.
It was my first intentionally deep dive into self exploration, consciously asking what I wanted from life and to learn a little more about myself.
I dived into yoga teacher training, and deepend my spiritual and philosophical understanding.
I come back to that journey’s learnings time and time again:
Ubud taught me:
• Don’t follow your head when making life decisions, it is trying to keep you safe and will restrict your growth (apply common sense).
• Don’t Try; Do.
• Pain will give you courage.
• Following your heart and intuition will lead to your purpose. Full stop.
• You have to fuck up to become bigger and better.
• Money will always come back, time won’t.
• You never need to search or force the answer, it will appear when you’re ready to listen.
• You have to die to be reborn.
• Embrace being alone, the dark and the ugly.
• Always appreciate the other persons perspective.
• Don’t presume you understand the situation or person just because it looks similar to one before.
• The only thing certain is death, so grab life, run with it and without fear.
• Choose into whom and where you put your energy wisely.
• Fire can warm you or burn you, be careful where and how you use your power.
• When you compare yourself to others, you are living their life, not yours.
• It’s about how you approach the problem, not the problem itself.
• Forgive yourself, you are not the choices you make.
• Prosperity comes from love.
• You always know the answer deep down.
